This site combines my personal interests including alternative fuels (propane and natural gas), engines and combustion, and old cars, especially first and second generation Mustangs (through 1970).  

I have almost 40 years of automotive industry and alternative fuel related research and education experience, including vehicle conversions, engine and combustion research, emissions controls, prototype fuel system development, custom engine design and assembly.

If you wish to send me more data or photos to help with diagnosis or product identification, or to request specialized services, please e-mail me first.  Please do not send photos unless I ask for them, and only then, please try to size them to prevent massive download times.  72 dpi in resolution and 4" on the long side is usually fine.  If I need a photo in greater detail, I will let you know.  Also, 20 photos really are not necessary, and please, keep the photos relative to the issue.

My reply mail will be via virus-scanned e-mail, and unless requested or if I feel it may help, I NEVER include attachments.  Any attachments I may choose to send will be from my archives, or from a source I trust.

I tend to hesitate replying to the so-called "free" mail services, since there is some evidence that they may sell your e-mail addresses to bulk e-mail spammers.  

Telephone Calls

As a general rule, I will not place any telephone calls to any requestor for assistance.  If you wish a personal call to help with a technical problem, mail me and we will discuss the terms.  Phone calls are NOT gratis.  At this time, I only provide telephone tech support for my contract clients, and only in the US.  If you are outside of the US, I prefer to use SKYPE, (www.skype.com).

I MAY be available online, at franz-hofmann.  If you wish to contact me personally, this is the means I prefer.  This service is downloaded from Skype's website at no charge.  You will need to use a computer with a high speed internet connection, a microphone and speakers.  I only speak American English.

While I am on this subject, I am a one-man show.  I have a real job and provide this service as a courtesy to my readers and it provides a little supplemental income (consulting and used equipment sales) and besides, its my hobby!
